De Tomaso fails to sell

The De Tomaso brand failed to attract a bid in auction this week But it appears that the liquidators for the De Tomaso assetts have already disposed of the factory and land, and this week the brand and trademarks were on the auction block, with a starting price of  €1.6 million. GM posts $2.5 billion profit, led by North America

General Motors on Thursday posted a profit of $2.5 billion for the second quarter, led by strong results in North America. GM's net income for the April-through-June period nearly doubled from $1.3 billion in the year-earlier quarter. It was GM's sixth consecutive quarterly profit since exiting bankruptcy in mid-2009.

European new car sales in record LOW

European new car registrations have plunged to their LOWEST level on record after slow August sales reversed an upturn in July.
