McLaren P1 to make its driving debut at 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed
Fri, 22 Mar 2013The new McLaren P1 supercar is heading for the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed to make its driving debut in the Supercar run. We’ve also had McLaren F1 new boy Sergio Perez driving the P1 round the Top Gear Dunsfold track and Ron Dennis telling us he got round the Top Gear track in the P1 a good 10 seconds quicker than any other road car ever has. Umea Olme Spyder project
Mon, 22 Feb 2010While Swedish automaker Saab was going through tumultuous times and Geely was in the process of buying Volvo from Ford, first year MA students in Transportation Design at Sweden's Umea Institute of Design were busy creating a one-off roadster for an independent car maker: the Olme Spyder. Created in collaboration with Ove Bengtsson, an engineer with a personal passion for building his own vehicles, the students were asked to design their own interpretation of a progressive and innovative roadster, developing the concept from a sketch into a full-scale model. Based on an Opel Agila donor car, the concept's 650kg steel monocoque chassis was created by Bengtsson himself to accommodate a mid-mounted engine.
Ford adds new Fiesta Style; drops Fiesta Studio price
Thu, 07 Jul 2011Ford Fiesta - seeking buyers further down the range Yesterday we got a new Fiesta limited edition in the Sport Special Edition and today we see Ford tweaking the bottom end of the Fiesta range to get more footfall in its showrooms. In comes the new Fiesta Style, from £9,995, which gets most of the cheap-looking bits on the body painted instead of being just plastic, and a few appealing toys like one-shot electric windows, driver’s seat height adjustment, remote locking and CD with aux in the standard kit list. Oh, and 15″ wheels with covers (perhaps that’s not such a big selling point).
