This is the top of the line. You want the hottest spark you get. This is the ticket. Yes we have done the stock hei distributors in the pass. Nothing but problems with them. We test every thing we sale. It goes down the race track. This Msd distributor will need a Msd box. Box is the 6AL  rated for 45000 volts...the Msd -7  47000 volts.....  and the Msd -8 50000 volts. The problem with stock hei distributors...the voltage starts dropping @ 3000 rpm. I guess if don't get on it. The stock hei will work. But if want to burn tires and get down the track. This distributor is for you! No more junkyard Hei distributors. The only draw back on this distributor, it's not cheap! Getting the distributor and the box, plus tach reader. You probably spend $1000 to $1500. But I know you will be happy with the out come.
