In a deal worth £2.2billion, the Italian company bought the remaining 41.46% of Chrysler from the VEBA Trust (Voluntary Employee Beneficiary Association) made up of current and former Chrysler employees. New Infiniti DX (Etherea) based on Mercedes platform to be built by Magna Steyr

The new Infiniti DX is to be built in Europe by Magna Steyr It’s reported that Canadian-Austrian specialists Magna Steyr will build the new Infiniti DX Etherea from Mercedes A-Class components. It looks like the plans by Infiniti to build a production model of the Etherea Concept from this year’s Geneva Motor Show are pushing ahead, with reports that Magna Steyr – the Canadian Austrian specialist car builders – tasked with putting together what we expect to be the Infiniti DX. The DX is Infiniti’s big gun in its aim to take 10 per cent of global luxury car sales by 2016.

BMW-Toyota partnership may yield hybrid Z4, new Supra

The BMW-Toyota sports-car lash-up has been reported on for a couple of years now, but new information from a report in the U.K.'s Autocar sheds more light on the future of the BMW Z4 and what this year's Toyota FT-1 concept will ultimately herald. Like the current Z4, its predecessor and the Z3 before it, as well as every generation of Supra, the new platform will feature a front-mounted gasoline engine. From there, things look to be diverging wildly as technology marches forward.
