The Tokyo Motor Show today saw VW unveil a second iteration of their new small family car – a third model will be shown at the LA Auto Show in November 2007. Called the Space Up!, the rear-engined car is a stretched version of the three-door we saw at the Frankfurt Motor Show earlier in the year.

New Mercedes-Benz V-Class (2014): world’s most luxurious MPV

Not often we get excited about a van-based people carrier, but in the case of the brand new 2014 Mercedes-Benz V-Class MPV we will make a worthy exception. Unveiled at a swanky do last night, the new V-Class replaces the Viano, and in the process becomes the most luxurious factory built eight-seater MPV we have ever seen. Video: Exploring the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class

To coincide with the announcement that its new C-Class has entered production, Mercedes-Benz has released a video exploring its design. Featuring design chief Gordon Wagener and other key members of the team, the video explains where their inspiration came from and how they experimented with proportions during its development. While the dropping bodyside feature line is a key element of the exterior, it's also found inside the C-Class, where the typical Mercedes sports car interior is combined with the floating, vertical center console.
