This auction is for a complete kit of aluminum parts designed to convert a 02-07 CR250R to accept a 1989-2001 CR500R engine.  This is not an auction for the completed frame just for the parts. The kit includes the following:

-Billet 6061-T6 aluminum Y-piece
-Head brackets (2)
-Silencer mounts (2)
-Pipe mount
-Coil mount
-Radiator outlet tube

Download the Conversion Manuals. These manuals included detailed instructions and photos on how to perform each of the modifications for great looking results.

The Y-piece is machined from a solid block of 6061-T6 aluminum, then de-burred in a media tumbler.  The front engine mount is machined into the Y-piece such that you will not have to fabricate front engine mounts. The ends are machined to fit over the tubing of the frame to allow the strongest welds.  With this Y-piece, you do not have to replace the square tubes that run under the engine. As you can see from the images it makes a very clean looking conversion.  CR500 engines from 1985 to 1988 can be used, but require the swing-arm bolt bushings in the rear of the case to be modified.

Each of these parts can be purchased separately (see our other listings), but there is a substantial discount if you purchase the complete kit.

Check out our store ConversionParts500 for all of these components to make your conversion easy.

We are happy to provide our contact info to anyone who purchases a part so they can contact us with questions about the conversion process.

Wed, 05 Aug 2009

The white VW Tiguan tested by heat 2 winner Johnny Heat 2 seems to have been hard-fought, with the competitors using social media to get votes in. In the end, Johnny claimed the Group 2 crown, pulling out a victory in a back-and-forth race.

Man-made Modern Luxury Materials in Cars

Mon, 29 Sep 2008

Luxury, within the context of a car interior, has been closely related to the use of wood and leather for over a century. These natural materials have a familiar organic, tactile quality that are intrinsically desirable attributes for most people and, in today's mass manufactured plastic world, they also assume a luxury or premium quality. Throughout the last century, metal, leather and wood have also been progressively supplanted by bakelite, vinyl and then polymer-based plastic materials in car interiors as well.
