Co-developped with Matra, the Renault Espace was launched in 1984 and pioneered the now very popular minivan/MPV segment. The second-generation version appeared seven years later by which time the competition all had developed competitors. 1994 marked the tenth anniversary of the Espace as well as Renault's third Formula 1 championship as an engine supplier.

Volvo V40 range gets new Drive-E engines

From May this year Volvo will update its V40 model, equipping the premium Swedish hatchback with its range of high-efficiency Drive-E engines and Volvo’s latest eight-speed automatic gearbox. This means the revised V40 line-up now offers an impressive performance to efficiency ratio, with 190hp on offer in the D4 turbodiesel variant, returning a claimed 74.3mpg combined with 99g/km CO2 when mated to the six-speed manual. Top Gear filming a road trip in Israel & the Middle East As we said back at the end of September when we reported that Top Gear were busy filming for the next series in New York, this is the time of year when Messrs Clarkson, Hammond and May get to travel the world playing at Four-Wheel-Whickers. September was the USA – ending up in NYC – and now the weather’s getting cooler in North America they’ve ventured off to the Middle East. It looks as if Top Gear are busy filming an epic roadtrip across chunks of the Middle East.
