The Baby Ace was one of the first sport planes available in the United States. Now you can build this classic!!
Wing span is 27 feet, cruising speed is 80mph, the aircraft uses a 'Clark Y' type airfoil (chord).

The aircraft can be built either with a closed cockpit (cabin) or open. You can fit it with floats or skis, or even a drag wing and wheel pants to make a fast racing machine. Good in rough weather, this design is rated to be flown in winds up to 50mph (if you have the nerve and the experience!).
This absolutely superb material was first available in 1933. This CD release includes drawings with dimensions, diagrams, and instructions.

Diesel has enjoyed great success lately as a racing fuel, but there's one place it hasn't appeared for more than six decades: Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Mazda's breaking that dry spell this weekend, when its Mazda 6 Skyactiv-D race car will head to Indy for the Grand-Am race. We like the 6 in both road trim and racing livery, but that previous diesel-powered racer -- the Cummins Diesel Special -- is pretty neat too.

2012 Ford Explorer gets 28 mpg with EcoBoost power

The 2012 Ford Explorer--the first vehicle in North America to get the company's four-cylinder EcoBoost engine--is rated at 20 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway, it was announced on Thursday morning. The 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost Explorer engine pushes out 240 hp at 5,500 rpm and 270 lb-ft at 3,000 rpm. The four-cylinder is a significant part of the Explorer's dramatic makeover, which has seen the family-hauler transition from a body-on-frame SUV to unibody underpinnings.
