Service Replacement for 1968 Corvettes

  • The bracket attaches to the rear closing panel (back wall) of the rear storage compartment cargo area on the outside (underbody) of the Corvette (See Diagram).

  • The courtesy light housing mounting bracket on the inside of the closing panel shares 4 mounting rivets with the reinforcement.

  • There are 3 styles of this reinforcement, in 1968 there was no hole, in 1969 a 9/16" hole was added at the top for the tip of a carpet rubber fastener to protrude and in 1970 the hole was enlarged to 3/4".

  • This reinforcement is the 1969 style with a 9/16" hole.

  • It shows some oxidation and finish loss, but there is no weak metal (see pictures).

  • It appears to be in its factory shape.

  • The mount holes show some wear from the removal process, but they appear to be in good useable condition (see pictures).

Jaguar F-Type: Fearless

Fri, 06 Jul 2012

Jaguar is continuing its PR assault for the new F-Type with a video setting out just how special the new Jaguar F-Type will be. If there’s one thing that separates ’New Jaguar’ from ‘Old Jaguar’ it’s their willingness to embrace every opportunity to positively promote their cars at every possible turn and in every possible way. The launch of the new XJ properly started the new style of PR offensives when Jaguar managed to release what seemed like a thousand teasers for their new big Cat before we’d even seen it in the flesh, and that was a full year before the first new XJs even hit Jaguar showrooms.

Our new spyshots reveal the sliding doors on next year's C-Max, which will improve practicality for families and parents armed with buggies and carry cots. Sources suggest that the sliding doors will be reserved for a longer wheelbase seven-seater C-Max, leaving the regular car with conventional doors and five seats.
