Infiniti EX35

Fri, 24 Aug 2007

The EX35 is a slightly smaller and more mainstream SUV than its FX bigger brother from which it takes its core 'coupe SUV' theme.  Despite the coupe design references, the vehicle is similar proportionally to the Lexus RX300 and BMW X3 which it will compete with in the US - and also in Europe when the Infiniti brand debuts next year.  Little different to the Infiniti EX concept shown in New York, the EX35 uses the core Infiniti graphic design signatures and soft form language but introduces a new flowing side feature line not seen on the Infiniti G37 Coupe launched a few months ago. Interesting technical innovations include the 'Around View Monitor' that uses four cameras to give a 'top-down view' of the outside of the car, and 'Scratch Shield' - a new self-healing clearcoat paint. Jeep Cherokee (2007): first official pictures

Tue, 10 Apr 2007

By Jack Carfrae First Official Pictures 10 April 2007 12:14 Jeep Cherokee: the lowdown Jeep has given the Cherokee yet another makeover in its 30-year history and has headed back to basics on the design front. The new Cherokee (or Liberty, if you’re American) draws heavily on the big and boxy Commander for its latest look. With a face that only its mother could love, the Cherokee certainly hasn’t become any more attractive.

Concept Car of the Week: Nissan NX-21 (1983)

Fri, 01 Aug 2014

In the early 1980s, with the new millennium still seemingly an age away, Nissan Design America was tasked with imagining the family car of the future, while giving potential buyers a preview of the forthcoming N13 NX and EXA models. The resulting concept would be shown at the Tokyo motor show in 1983. Given confidence by the increasing success and expanding global presence of Japanese cars, including the previous generation N12 NX, Nissan's designers, led by Tom Semple, decided that the NX-21 (for 21st century) was the answer.
