BMW to reveal Zagato concept at Pebble Beach
Thu, 16 Aug 2012This weekend at Pebble Beach, Monterey and the Legends of the Autobahn, BMW will show off a handful of cars, the most intriguing of which is this Zagato concept. Basically looking like a swoopy version of the Z4, the Zagato concept will hold court next to the 2013 BMW 7-series, the Alpina B7 and more products from the M division, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Three vintage race cars will be out touring during the Motorsports Reunion, including the 1986 BMW-March GTP, the 1980 BMW M1 Procar and a 1975 BMW 3.5 CSL, the last of which will be piloted by BMW North America President and CEO Ludwig Willisch.
Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse world speed record: Video
Mon, 29 Apr 2013We hoped that tease might be for something really interesting and new – perhaps the much rumoured 1600bhp Veyron or even the Galibier – but it was simply a new world record for an open-topped production car. Impressive, of course, but just more of what we expect from Bugatti, rather than something new and innovative. The new world record for the Vitesse was set at the VW facility at Ehra-Lessien where Chinese driver Anthony Liu took the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse to 254mph, creating a new world record for an open-topped production car and, more importantly for Bugatti, an excuse to produce a limited run of the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse WRC Edition with a black and orange paint job for €1.99 million each.
Video: A Caterham Supersport and a snow-covered road
Mon, 05 Nov 2012Anyone born before the automakers started trying to push front-drivers on us knows that rear-wheel drive and a set of decent tires will get you just about anywhere you want to go, even in deep snow. Skeptical? Take it from EVO magazine, which posted this video of editor Henry Catchpole enjoying a Caterham Supersport in all its sideways glory.
