New Chevrolet Camaro will cost from £35,320 in UK

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

The facelifted Chevrolet Camaro will arrive in the UK in November 2013 The current Chevrolet Camaro only hit the UK around a year ago, but with a facelift for the Camaro debuting at the New York Auto Show this year the new Camaro is on its way to the UK, with prices starting from £35,320. The changes to the 2014 Camaro amount to a new nose with wider grill and slimmer lights, a set of vents on the bonnet with a new boot lid, diffuser and lights at the back that somehow contrive to make the Camaro look like a Japanese import. Under the bonnet is the same American Muscle engine – a 6.2 litre V8 – with 426bhp if you opt for the manual gearbox and 400bhp if you go for the auto option, with standard equipment including Keyless, MyLink (which gives you a 7″ touchscreen, rear view camera and voice recognition), SatNav and colour heads-up display.

Video: Jaguar's Julian Thomson on the importance of design values

Tue, 30 Oct 2012

Jaguar's Head of Advanced Design, Julian Thomson, appeared at this month's PSFK Conference in London giving a talk on design values. Thomson's talk, ‘Concepting Dreams, Making Reality Happen', dealt with questions of creating a design story as well as how Jaguar uses the value of its heritage while keeping things original and new. Thomson – the man behind the 2010 C-X75 and the recently revealed F-Type – said, "You can't get a good design story if you don't look at your heritage, where you came from, where your values came from." He went on to discuss the ‘sad years of Jaguar', from around 1968 to 2004 where Jaguar was too timid to develop and "essentially made the same-looking car." He put this down to a reluctance on Jaguar's part to move too far away from its successful models and, quite interestingly, because "not only did we start doing market research, we started asking Americans what they wanted." Video: Jan Kaul explains Mercedes-Benz A-Class' interior

Thu, 07 Jun 2012

Mercedes-Benz has released a video exploring the interior of its new A-Class featuring the designer who headed the project. Jan Kaul explains in the video how the inspiration behind the interior was the subject of aviation, the same inspiration that produced the Concept A-Class show car. "The theme running through the design of the A-Class was definitely ‘less is more,'" says Kaul.
