Dakota Digital OBD-II / CAN Interface Expansion Module - BIM-01-2

The BIM-01-2 ODB-II / CAN Interface allows you to plug directly into the engine diagnostic port, extracting engine data from the ODB-II computer (ECU). The BIM-01-2 will output the following information to Dakota Digital Instrument Systems *:

Always Available:
  • Speed
  • Tachometer
  • Engine Temp
  • Check Engine Indicator
Vehicle Specific:
  • Intake Air Temp
  • Transmission Temp
  • Ambient Air Temp
  • Gear Position
  • Oil Pressure

Please note: Due to the various factory and modified ECM's, additional data including (Intake Temp, Transmission Temp, Ambient Air Temp, Oil Pressure, and Gear Position) may be available, but will vary from application to application. Dakota Digital cannot guarantee the presence or accuracy of the Intake Temp, Transmission Temp, Ambient Air Temp, Oil Pressure, or Gear Position displays since this is a function of the ECM and matching OEM functional sensors.

This product can provide a +/-25 percent calibration to compensate for tire size or gear changes which have affected the speedometer output.

*The BIM-01-2 is designed to decode the information provided by the ECM through OBD-II and supply this information to the VFD3 rev. G and VHX control box instrument systems only.  Earlier control boxes (with an aluminum case) are not compatible with the BIM family of Expansion Modules.

**The BIM-01-2 is designed for J1850 and CAN OBD protocols only. If you are concerned about compatibility with your vehicle please contact our sales or tech department.

***The BIM-01-2 is a direct replacement and upgrade to the BIM-01-1

Gazoo Racing upgrades the Scion FR-S

Thu, 17 May 2012

Since the 2013 Subaru BRZ and the 2013 Scion FR-S met the public last month, all people want to talk about is when a turbo or supercharged version is coming out. It seems 200 hp and 150 lb-ft of torque just isn't enough. Japanese firm Gazoo Racing decided not to wait for the factory and built a supercharged—and turbocharged—Toyota 86 (our Scion FR-S) that it's calling the Gazoo Racing Sport FR.

MG Rover – Serious Fraud Office (SFO) to investigate

Sun, 05 Jul 2009

The Rover 75 Coupe - one of MG Rover's last big ideas before its collapse in 2005 MG Rover was bought from BMW for the princely sum of £10 after BMW had had enough of trying to make a viable company out of a business that was still undermined by the woes – and attitudes – of the British Leyland years. That £10 purchase price also came with £425 million in loans from BMW, so MG Rover had a chance. But the collapse, and the subsequent sale of the rights to the MG trademark to SAIC (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation), brought accusations that the ‘Phoenix Four’ – Directors and owners of MG Rover – has acted fraudulently when it was revealed they had acquired more than £40 million in pension rights, salary and assets in the intervening five years between purchase from BMW and collapse.
