The Big M Sportsman block gives you the versatility to build a wide variety of engine combinations. A true priority main oiling system oils the main bearings before the lifters for extra reliability.

Features:

  • 9.800" deck height.
  • 4.600" bore size with siamesed extra thick cylinder walls to resist cracking and improve ring seal (minimum .300" thick with 4.625" bore).
  • Uses +.300" tall Gen VI style lifters.
  • Scalloped outer water jacket walls improve coolant flow around the cylinder barrels to equalize temperatures.
  • 4 bolt ductile iron main caps have splayed outer bolts for extra strength.
  • True priority main oil system lubricates the main bearings before the lifters. Our stepped main oil gallery (9/16" to 1/2" to 7/16") increases the flow of oil to the crank at high rpm, and our front oil crossover eliminates internal oil leaks around the distributor shaft.
  • Oil filter pad is drilled and tapped for an external oil pump.
  • Lifter valley head stud bosses prevent blown head gaskets.
  • Rear main cap uses standard oil pump and two piece seal - no adapter required!
  • Mechanical fuel pump boss, clutch linkage mounts, and side and front motor mounts simplify installation in any chassis.
  • Dual oil pan bolt patterns fit standard and notched oil pans.
  • Coated cam bearings, freeze plugs and dowels are NOT included.

We ship all engine blocks via Unishippers Truck Freight. We recommend you ship to a commercial location that has either a loading dock or forklift truck. If that option is not available, we can set the freight for terminal pick up. Please note residential deliveries are approximately $85.00 on top of the standard shipping. Toyota GT 86 (2012) first official pictures

Toyota has a long history of long gestations for its sports cars (remember the Lexus LFA's birth?). But today we can finally bring you the first pictures of the new Toyota GT 86 sports car, ne FT-86 concept car from back in 2009. We'll see the GT 86 at the Tokyo auto show in the next week, with UK sales due in spring 2012.

8th L'Argus Design Competition announced

From 1 June 2009, design students will be invited to take part in the eighth annual L'Argus European Design Competition, which this year takes as its theme 'Less is More: Traveling in the Era of Simplicity'. Questioning students on the concepts of mobility and the future of automobile design, this contest - organized by French magazine L'Argus de L'Automobile - will run until 11 December 2009 and culminate in an awards ceremony on 20 January 2010. The competition is open to students attending design colleges within the European Union and Switzerland, including non-automotive courses covering disciplines such as industrial design, fine arts and architecture.
