Fourth Chinese Auto Design Competition launched

The fourth Chinese Auto Design Contest officially launched in Beijing last week. Sponsored by China's Society of Automotive Engineers, the China Industrial Design Association, the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission and the Beijing Fengtai District People's Government, the competition is the largest and most authoritative state-level professional event. Held biennially, this year's Chinese Auto Design competition is divided into two categories: Design Innovation (which judges current vehicles created by automakers) and Creative Design.

Nissan 370Z Nismo (2014) gets new look and aero

Due in late 2014, the 370Z Nismo gets a new aero kit, claimed to boost downforce ‘significantly’ at speed. Out goes the 2013 Nismo’s lairy rear wing for a more subtle, 911 2.7 RS-esque ducktail affair, which works in tandem with the new front splitter to evenly split more downforce over the front and rear axles.

Toyota chief: Scion in no danger of shutdown

Despite three years of lackluster sales, Toyota's Scion youth brand is not in danger of being shut down, Toyota Motor President Akio Toyoda said. “There is no concern, no danger for Scion in the future,” Toyoda said in a roundtable interview with journalists at the Detroit auto show on Monday.
