Delco Remy 1118201 Voltage Regulator on 2040-parts.com

Golden, Colorado, United States

You're bidding on a used original Delco Remy, 1118201 voltage regulator that's been cleaned up, replated and given a fresh coat of black paint on its cover.  The regulator was then connected to a generator and dynamically paced to insure proper output as well as verify its functionality under dynamic load when heated.

You can look up the various applications for this part, but my quickie research indicates it's a factory match for certain 1946-51 Cadillacs, 1940-52 Chevy and truck vehicles, and 1946-51 Pontiacs.  Generically, the '201 regulator is specified for 6V, 35 amp electrical systems.

This unit must be early as by the mid-50 era, Delco was stamping the mounting flange with the full part number, the electrical system thumbnail and the unit date of manufacture.  The close-up shows this regulator is simply embossed "201".  I'm guessing that the lack of additional information places this regulator into the 1940 era.

The closeup of the back side, shows I did NOT polish out the fresh plate.  This is a non-cosmetic surface and you can damage a regulators' resistors if you're not careful.  But, note the physical format of the resistors!  They're paddle shaped wire wound components that differ significantly from the asbestos centered spiral wire winding constuction techniques used in the mid to late 50's...

This part is ready to bolt-on and show.  You'll have to re-use your existing three shock mounting grommets as the ones on this unit were badly weathered.  Bid in confidence as this part comes with no-DOA warranty.

Shipping calculator presumes USPS priority mail delivery for US destinations and USPS 1st class international post for non-domestic shipment. Buyer to pay $2 handling fee plus freight at cost (you can define other methods of shipment).   Sale to complete within 10-days of auction close.
