Here's a quick question, have you ever driven a hot rod that had some neat trick parts on a cruise or far away from the garage and there is a snafu and find yourself stranded without any replacement parts in the nearby parts store?  Well, it isn't much fun is it?

This auction is for information on how to install FACTORY disc brakes AND power steering from the '73 to '87 GM 2WD full-size truck line onto your 60-66 and 67-70 Chevy and GMC 2WD truck Suburban, Blazer, and Jimmy.  These instructions were written based on real life conversions mainly on several 64-66 Chevy and GMC trucks.  This information can be used on 60-70 models rear wheel drive trucks that use the factory control arm suspension.  This is the EASY way to perform the disc brake conversion using your factory control arms and tie rod ends, which means NO need to change out that heavy crossmember that requires an engine removal.  NO need to buy EXPENSIVE gadgets, afermarket spindles, exotic calipers, boosters, or brackets.  I've made this conversion so simple, I myself am amazed no one else thought about it.  I have done this procedure on quite a few 66 models and know what works and what is hard work that can be avoided.

The purchase of these instructions will also include technical advice of not only the disc brake and power steering installation but other aspects of the truck as well.  That is like advice from a shop telling you how to work on your truck.

NOTICE:  I have found a supplier of NEW 6 lug rotors (CPP) that fit the 73-87 spindles for approximately $150 per pair plus shipping.

Please note: 60 61 62 trucks will need the lower control arms from 63-87 Chevy/GMC 1/2 ton trucks installed for this conversion to effectively work.  The instructinns give you aternatives.

You can use salvage yard parts from up to 91 Suburban or 87 Chevy / GMC truck.  It is just up to you to find the parts.  You can decide if you want power or manual disc brakes.  You can also decide if you want 5, 8, and now 6  lugs, since you are buying the parts, you are in control.  I occassionally have parts for sale so keep me in mind if desiring to purchase parts.   If you like to use parts on your classic, wouldn't you rather have factory style parts?

I personally can perform this conversion in less than 4 hours and that includes repacking the front wheel bearings and a test drive.  It may take a less experienced mechanic a little longer, usually around 5 to 10 hours.

This is information CAN be e-mailed internationally, only that will be e-mailed to you wth no shipping fee.  Windows/Microsoft Word 2003 is required to open the document attached in the e-mail.

Eight lug 3/4 ton trucks can benefit from this as well as long you use the 3/4 ton spindles and rotors. Now that I ave found new rotors for about $150 per pair plus shipping, therer is no need to machine your old ones.  99 and newer rotors have a different offset than intended.

This is a comprehensive instruction guide and gives detailed instructions on how to perform this task. These instructions include a list of items that are needed to perform the task of upgrading the front of your truck to large pick-up truck rotors.  In my parts auctions, I have only given an overview on the service work needed-this is the nitty-gritty details.

If you need to purchase the adapter to install the 73-87 booster onto your truck, please add $20 to your purchase amount which is the shipping cost option for US buyers, International buyers request shipping before purchase, and a note if your truck is the 60-66 body style or the 67-72.

There are disc brake kits out there that range from $300 to $800.  Why pay that much for parts that are hard to warranty when you can use factory service parts?  And a few of those kits do not even use the truck wheel bolt pattern.

I will enforce copyright enfringements.  That means no reselling of this information and/or calling it your own idea without proper approval from me.

If you want me to send the information in an email-there is no shipping.  I no longer will send out copies in the mail as I have had some problems with my local post office.

I have sold this information to over 350 satisfied customers in the past year and a half!!!

I am available for tech support if ANY problems with this installation.  Steve 214 606 5885 from 9 am-9 pm central time.

Thank you for looking at this and my other auctions. Good luck and happy bidding.

New Honda CR-V: First new CR-V photos appear on Honda’s Japan site

Sun, 30 Oct 2011

Firts photo of the 2012 Honda CR-V We first got a proper look at the new Honda CR-V (the 2012 model) in concept form back in  July, and at the time Honda told us that they were planning a US release by the end of 2011, but no European release until Autumn of 2012. So the seemingly unheralded reveal of the new CR-V on Honda’s website in Japan is a bit of a surprise. The photo has suddenly appeared in a gallery of teaser photos of the new CR-V on Honda’s website and as far as we can see Honda has done nothing to trail it.

Lazzarini Design creates Ferrari-powered Fiat 500

Fri, 22 Jun 2012

If you saw the Fiat Abarth 659 Tributo Maserati car and thought to yourself, “That's just not enough razzle-dazzle,” then maybe this will strike your speed-seeking fancy. It's a Fiat 500 powered by one of the best engines in the world—the 4.5-liter V8 from the Ferrari Italia. Lazzarini Design came up with the concept, and the company says it's waiting for an investor with $550,000 burning a hole in his or her pocket to give building one a shot.

Are used car prices about to spiral down?

Thu, 04 Apr 2013

CAP – the used car price specialists – are warning that used car prices, particularly ’almost’ new car prices, are set to tumble as nearly new cars hit the market. The car market in the UK has proved amazingly resilient to the general malaise in the economy, with new car sales continuing to rise strongly and used cars seemingly immune to big depreciation drops. But CAP – who gauge used car prices for the motor trade – are warning that this could be about to change as the impact of recent trading in new cars is about to start impacting on used car prices, particularly prices for cars less than a year old.
