Ford speed-limiter option becomes more popular in Europe

An adjustable speed limiter ranks high on the popularity list with Ford buyers in Europe. Ford says it sold more than 220,000 cars with the system last year on the Continent. The take rate has been particularly high on the Mondeo sedan (86 percent), the S-Max wagon (85 percent) and the Kuga SUV (83 percent).

General Motors Co. reached a deal Tuesday to sell its money-losing Swedish subsidiary Saab to Koenigsegg Group AB. The companies signed a stock purchase agreement that would give the tiny Swedish supercar maker 100 percent of Saab's shares, GM Europe said in a statement.

Peugeot 2008 DKR (pictured) gets 340 bhp turbo diesel to fight the Dakar Rally The days of Peugeot’s motorsport activities being integral to the brand’s identity are long gone, but Peugeot are still playing motorsports with a few headline grabbing projects like Sebastian Loeb’s Pikes Peak car. But Peugeot’s motorsport activities at the moment are extending a bit further than hitting Pikes Peak (and the Goodwood hillclimb) in a monstrous Peugeot 208 T16, and a 2008 to take on the Dakar Rally was revealed back in April.
