The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders has revealed that new car sales grew again in the UK in November – up by 11.3 per cent. (adsbygoogle=window.adsbygoogle||[]).push({});At some point, new car sales in the UK must surely start to ease as the economic pressure bite, but so far in 2012 we’ve had an inexorable rise in numbers. The latest figures for November show new car sales (well, to be precise, new car registrations – which include Pre-Reg cars) up by an impressive 11.3 per cent, following on from a rise of 12.1 per cent in October, with private buyers driving sales rather than fleet.

Students from the Transportation Design Masters program at Spain's Elisava School of Design presented their work in the 2005 Degree Show entitled 'Real Transportation', held in October at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion in Barcelona. This was the sixth edition of the Transportation Design Masters course. The projects by this year's students aimed to bring creative solutions to real transport issues, while taking into account aspects such as mobility, aerodynamics, environmental impact, ergonomics, legislation, materials, production, security, technology and aesthetic principles.

Consumer Reports gets top vehicle picks mostly right

Despite the publication's uncomfortably broad definition of reliability -- it spans everything from "the engine fell out" to "the touchscreen display shows fingerprints too easily" -- automakers still clamor to get on the Consumer Reports recommended vehicle list. This year's winners cover a broad spectrum of vehicles, and for the most part, we're in agreement with the magazine's editors, with one significant exception at the top of the list. Best overall vehicle went to the Tesla Model S.
