( This auction includes 'SHORT' high density black plastic pucks ) This auction is for a complete frame slider kit that includes: 2 Billet Mounting Bases, Hardware, and 2 BLACK 'SHORTY' High Density Plastic Pucks ( shown below ) FITS Ducati 848 / 1098 / 1198 - ALL YEARS
SPECIAL NOTE from WOODCRAFT The frame slider kit for the 848/1098 spent a lot of time in R&D. The narrow engine makes for a somewhat long slider needed to reach the bodywork. We were concerned that a standard slider would have a tendendcy to bend and/or break - causing damage to the frame and engine. With this in mind, we made a support bracket that clamps securely to the frame to reinforce the slider. Again we had a test rider try them out (with a crash while racing) and they held up perfectly, helping to protect the tank and water pump. These are a little more expensive than our standard sliders, but well worth the investment when it comes to protecting your Italian beauty. This is a special set that sits behind the bodywork - offering valuable protection for the water pump & other vulnerable pieces, but which does not require cutting the bodywork. This kit utilizes our 50-1399 shorty pucks as replacements. ( see images below ) NOTES: (1.) Cutting 2 inch holes in the bodywork is required. (2.) This kit requires the elimination and/or removal of the exhaust flapper valve motor. We confirmed with Ducati NA that this is just a low rpm noise reduction device. On our bike (which just has slipons) we trimmed off the small drain plug on the bottom of the piece and zip tied the valve motor to the frame about 1/4" above the original mount. All full exhaust systems we are aware of eliminate this device completely, so if you have a full system none of this will apply to you.
Woodcraft framesliders are designed to protect your bike in the event of a crash and are a great investment whether you ride on the street or track.
Woodcraft Patented Features Include: Durable 2-Piece Design - Their perpendicular mounting bolt allows the sliders to be solid rather than hollow (like other sliders) and provides nearly 50% more material for much greater durability. Easy Puck Replacement - The 2-Piece design also makes for quick and easy puck replacement in the event of a crash. The perpendicular mounting bolts are not ground off and destroyed like hollow sliders. All Woodcraft Sliders have been Race Tested and Approved - Woodcraft sliders stick out far enough to protect your bike, but not so far that they get torn off or cause additional damage in the event of an accident.

University students learn product development at Eco Car Challenge
