Ford starts big push on redesigned Explorer, touting fuel economy and capability

Ford Motor Co. will emphasize fuel economy, off-road and towing capability and a smoother ride when it launches TV and print advertising for the redesigned 2011 Explorer next month. In other words: Different build but better capability, Ford says.

The R, ML and GL 320 Bluetec diesels will be launched in America in autumn 2008, but won’t be coming to Europe yet. The three SUVs, which Mercedes claims come with the world’s latest and cleanest diesel engine, may not even make it to the UK.  All three come with a 3.0-litre diesel engine that has revised piston crowns, a lower compression ratio, and a new turbocharger and ECU.

The Jaguar C-X75, the breath-taking hybrid supercar that stole the spotlight at the Paris motor show, will become reality in late 2013. Jaguar announced plans on Friday morning in London to build a production version of the car, and it will make just 250 examples from 2013 to 2015 as part of a partnership with Williams F1. Pricing will start at about $1.1 million, and more ordering and technical information will be available on Sept.
