Crackdown on 'distracted' drivers

Wed, 02 Oct 2013

A CRACKDOWN on distracted drivers caught one motorist having a shave using a razor and a water bottle and a woman doing her make-up in the rear view mirror while on a motorway. The five-day police operation across the motorways of Hampshire and the Thames Valley resulted in 198 motorists being prosecuted for driving offences - most of them driving whilst distracted. Other offences spotted were a lorry driver brushing his teeth, two van drivers reading newspapers while they drove, one person reading a map on the steering wheel and two drivers using iPads (one on the steering wheel) as they travelled along.

Peugeot EX1 EV takes on the Nurburgring & sets new electric car record

Sun, 01 May 2011

Peugeot EX1 EV Concept - a 'Ring-beater Peugeot has been busy celebrating its bi-centenary of late (as a company, not just a care maker) and a part of the celebrations of the anniversary was the creation of the Peugeot EX1 EV Concept we saw at the Paris Motor Show.. Something to run around the centre of town in or a delivery vehicle for urban businesses, perhaps.

Hyundai i10 i-Blue for 2010

Sat, 08 Aug 2009

The Hyundai i10 i-Blue is based on the Hyundai i10 Blue CNG concept (above) So where are Hyundai off to now with their ‘best budget buy’ cars? They’re off down the 3-pot road, with the introduction in the New Year of the Hyundai i10 i-Blue - an 800cc three-pot engined car that should give crackingly good economy and emissions. Based on the 2008 Hyundai i10 Blue CNG Concept that was shown at the Geneva Motor Show in 2008, its 800cc, turbo-charged three-cylinder engine should be good for 90bhp and slip in to the free VED bracket, with less than 100g/km CO2 emissions.
