The Morgan Plus 8 Speedster (pictured) celebrates 100 years Morgans may still look like Morgans did half a century and more ago, but under the skin lies a car capable of holding its own (most of the time) with cars from the modern er. Now, to celebrate 100 years of building cars at their Pickersleigh Road factory in Malvern, worcestershire, Morgan has revealed a limited edition (although such is Morgan’s production numbers you could reasonably consider every Morgan a limited edition) of the Plus 8 – the Morgan Plus 8 Speedster.

The new Volvo V40 is set to be unveiled at next week's Geneva motor show. The manufacturer has sought to retain characteristics from the larger Volvo models but refine it with sharper features in a more compact form, while focusing on a number of key areas within the car. It's closest equivalent – in terms of format – is the Audi A3 Sportback thanks to its mix of hatchback and wagon characteristics.

The BMW i3 EV (pictured) will eventually be joined by a hydrogen fuel cell BMW BMW has now taken its first fully-fledged step in to the electric car market with the BMW i3, revealed in full earlier this week. The i3 is a properly competent offering from BMW and it seems likely that, despite a price pushing on £30k even after the taxpayer bribe for EVs, that they will find a ready market in their affluent customer base for the i3 as a second (or third, or fourth…) car for local runarounds. BMW has even managed to negate range anxiety by offering the option of a range-extender engine in the i3 – basically a BMW motorcycle engine to charge the battery when it runs out of juice – so BMW’s customers who may wish to use their i3 for more than just a trip the shops can do so without getting stranded.
