A swoopy, four-door coupe it’s yet another of Audi’s attempts at niche-filling, and is aimed straight at rivals such as the CLS from Mercedes. We heard rumours that the A7 would make an appearance at the Detroit Motor Show this month – but it didn’t – and the speculation has now moved on to the Geneva Motor Show in March.

Mon, 12 Sep 2011Volkswagen Suzuki Partnership - things aren't exactly rosy Back in 2009 Volkswagen invested a rather large chunk of change (around €2 billion) in Suzuki in exchange for a 20% stake in the Japanese car maker, and there were big hopes for advantages for both parties. Volkswagen were looking for a quick-fix route to the burgeoning car market in India, where Suzuki were doing very well, with sales in India last year of 1.13 million cars – almost half its production – in comparison to VW’s paltry sales of just 53,000. In return, Suzuki were expecting to get a quick route to cutting-edge hybrid and electric tech for their range, and access to VW’s engines.
Volume sales of plug-in Toyota Prius to begin in two years
Mon, 21 Dec 2009Toyota will start leasing 150 of its Prius plug-in hybrids in the United States this winter and plans retail sales of tens of thousands in two years. The North American arrival, scheduled for around February, is part of a global rollout of 600 units. With a longer electric-only cruise range than the standard Prius, the plug-in is Toyota's answer to the Chevrolet Volt extended-range hybrid being launched next year by General Motors Co.
