Interior Motives Design Awards 2012

At a glamorous awards ceremony at the Espace Clacquesin in Paris earlier this evening, the world's top designers and automotive journalists gathered together to watch sponsors Peugeot and Volkswagen reveal the 2012 Interior Motives Student Design of the Year: ‘Autopool' by Siavash Jafari Jozani and Mina Kasirifar from the University of Tehran. At the end of what was a memorable event, the two Iranian students walked away with one of the most prestigious accolades in the automotive design industry and a cash prize of $5,000. Winners announced in Factory Five design competition

Earlier this year, we brought you news of an open-sourced design competition from American kit car manufacturer, Factory Five. The brief called for a compact, two-seat roadster that shared a drivetrain with the Subaru Impreza. The car would feature a bespoke space-frame chassis, but the mechanicals would be lifted from the Impreza to allow the car to sell for under $15,000.

The Pagani Zonda Revolucion – the ultimate Zonda We’ve lost count of the number of ‘Special Edition’ Zondas Pagani has churned out over the years, but it’s probably close to the point where a non-special Zonda is rarer than the special editions. Now we get treated to one last special edition Zonda with the Pagani Zonda Evolucion, an evolution of the track-only Zonda R promising even more extremes of performance and price. The Evolucion’s 6.0 litre V12 engine produces a massive 789bhp which, thanks to a weight of only 1070kg, promises to be unbelievably quick with a power to weight ration of 749bhp per ton – better than the Veyron.
