Saab's new 9-5 (2009) leaks early: the first photos
Thu, 23 Jul 2009By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 23 July 2009 09:00 Breaking news: early shots of the new Saab 9-5 have leaked out early in Germany. These low-res photos of the new 9-5 were published online today – revealing an exec that trades on the style that has made Saab's greatest hits so distinctive. There's a hint of old 900 around the C-pillar, lending a dash of coupé style to what remains a defiantly four-door saloon to rival the Audi A6 and other execs. Note also how the side glass graphic slopes rearwards, in Saab's true cockpit style. The face of the new Saab 9-5 is distinguished by a much more dominant grille, with a pair of headlamps ringed with chrome (it works much better than on the current geriatric 9-5, don't worry!) and a prominent Saab name.
Bentley Flying Spur Speed (2009): the first photos
Mon, 09 Jun 2008By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 09 June 2008 10:12 Bentley subtly revised the lynchpin of its range, the Continental GT, in autumn 2007 – and now it’s applying similar revisions to its saloon sibling, the Flying Spur. The four-door Continental is now available in two models: the basic Flying Spur and the new, high-performance Flying Spur Speed, which packs a 600bhp version of the idiosyncratic W12. That’s enough punch to make the Speed Bentley’s fastest saloon ever.
Fiat-Chrysler: A match made for enthusiasts
Fri, 17 Jul 2009The Fiat-Chrysler marriage means big love for auto enthusiasts in the United States. Here's a quick rundown on some of the Fiat hardware we got a chance to sample during a recent visit to the company's headquarters and test track in Italy. Fiat 500: With styling that makes it look like the spawn of a Volkswagen Beetle and a BMW Mini Cooper, the 500 does an Italian job on both competitors: It's cuter than a Beetle, and likely less expensive than a comparable Mini.
