I have for sale one fresh (fully rebuilt) Ford Yates V8 Racing Engine designed for Road Racing in SCCA GT1 and Trans AM and NASCAR and ARCA road courses. Also set up great for short track oval racing. I would recommend a Cam change for mid track and long track oval racing. It is a 348 Cubic Inch engine with 4 bolt mains racing block and Yates C3 aluminum heads. It has a 4.080" bore and 3.325" stroke. It has a full Jesel Roller Rocker system with 1 pieces stands. All this motor has on it for time since the rebuild is one dyno pull, to make sure everything is OK after the rebuild. The fresh rebuild includes new rings, main bearings, connecting rod bearings, new Isky 9945 valve springs, and new Crower solid roller lifters. The reciprocating assembly is comprised of a Bryant crankshaft, Carrillo connecting rods, and Wiseco pistons. Compression is 13 to 1. It has T&D rockers and the more expensive single piece rocker stands.  It makes about 703 to 720 hp, and potentially more, depending on which carburetor is run on it. It can also make a higher peak hp with a different cam but is currently set up with a very broad torque curve, to accommodate accelerating out of the numerous corners of road race courses. It is complete, front-to-rear from the crankshaft rear end to the belt drive cog pulleys up front for the dry sump pump, water pump, and power steering. And it is complete top-to-bottom from the Custom road race low profile dry sump pan to the intake manifold. The heads and manifold are port matched and custom ported for this rpm range and application. It includes an MSD dual ignition distributor, a Barnes 5 stage dry sump pump, and a refreshed ATI damper. It also has a Custom Yates timing belt and cover system. All this motor is missing to run is the carburetor, which is not included at this price, but is available.
This is one of my two motors (is currently my spare and not in the race car). I switch them out every other year to run GT1 in the Northeast Division of SCCA. I have included a picture of the car it currently races in. It is currently stored and protected properly from the environment and only has one dyno run on it since the rebuild.

To further clarify, the engine lift plate and spacer on top of the intake manifold are not included.  Also the front mount plate is new and not yet drilled but only fits my chassis.  Most GT1 and NASCAR chassis take a much wider version or use bottom mounts.  So I will be keeping that.

I am only asking $11,900, as described.  Although I prefer to sell local and avoid the shipping hassle, I will also ship at your cost and I will mount on a pallet for free.  We must discuss the numerous shipping details before committing.  If interested, please email me or call 860-741-0049.

I also now have my other C3 headed motor for sale.  It has a few short race weekends on it for suspension adjustments.  It has lots of life in it before needing refreshing.  This one is slightly bigger displacement at 361 cubic inch and makes about 735 hp.  They both run very similar.  Other than the displacement, pretty much the same specs as the motor above.  This motor has Jesel rockers and the more expensive single piece rocker stands.

You may notice I have had this motor sold a few times already on Ebay.  Although these have been serious buyers, there are always numerous questions and details to discuss about the motor in addition to shipping.  I have continued to expand the description to describe the specific details of this motor.  If there is a detail you don't see answered, please ask before bidding.  I would be very surprised to see a bid from someone that hasn't already contracted me with some specific questions about this motor.    So ask first and then bid if still interested.  Thanks and good luck!

A $500 deposit is required within 48 hours by either Paypal or any other preferrable method.  Balance due in cash upon pick up.

By James Foxall and and CAR reader reporter asp Motor Shows 23 July 2008 16:02 Considering Morgan has been making largely the same cars since the Ark was launched it’s a bit much to expect the tiny Malvern firm to have much new to shout about. The firm has actually managed to come up with a new Sport derivative of its evergreen 4/4. The £26,221 model has been stripped out so it now weighs just 800kg.
