Mercedes F1 at Edinburgh’s Race the Runway

Fri, 22 Aug 2014

The 2012 Mercedes F1 car will be at Edinburgh’s Race the Runway 2014 event In 2013, Mercedes decided to cough up sponsorship to help the Race the Runway event at Edinburgh Airport, and it must have been a success as Mercedes are back again as event sponsors. The Race the Runway event is an opportunity for car owners to blat their cars down the runway at Edinburgh Airport and generate cash for a worthy cause – the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow. Participants have to cough up a £300 donation to the charity to get the chance to see what their car can do, for which they get a free lunch as well as the thrill of flat-out driving on the runway, and can even bring a passenger along.

Rolls Royce Ghost spotted at Dover

Sun, 17 May 2009

A virtually uncamouflaged Rolls Royce Ghost caught waiting for a ferry at Dover We’ve seen the Rolls Royce Ghost (formerly known as the RR4 or EX200) out testing in various states of camouflage over the last few months. Finally, at the Geneva Motor Show, we got a proper look at the Ghost, and then, in April, Rolls Royce decided to tell us what we already knew back in February, that it was to be known as the Rolls Royce Ghost, to make a brace of ethereal model names for Rolls Royce, along with the Phantom. So with Rolls Royce seemingly on target to launch the Rolls Royce Ghost as a production-ready car at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, they are busy testing the Ghost in Europe, and our snappers caught this virtually uncamouflaged Ghost patiently waiting to catch a ferry at Dover to sail to Calais.

Group 20 has been wound up by the courts, along with sister car finance companies Vehicle Options Ltd and Vehicle Options Fleet Ltd.All three companies were investigated by the Insolvency Service after complaints, CAR can reveal.Group 20 supercar club: what went wrong? The supercar club started trading in 2006 and used a network of franchisees to sell membership to the club. Over time, Group 20 expanded to boast a rental list of exotica worth around £2 million; local newspaper reports in the Medway Messenger reveal Group 20 boasted a Lamborghini Gallardo, Porsche 911, Bentley Continental GTC and, most impressively, a Zonda F Roadster on its books. However, the Companies Investigation Branch of the Insolvency Service found that Group 20 and its parent company had numerous ‘misleading business practices’.
