Road management proposals 'could save millions'
Wed, 30 Oct 2013£2.6 MILLION IN TAXES could be saved over the next decade by reforming how roads are managed, the Department for Transport has said. Roads Minister Robert Goodwill unveiled a consultation on turning the Highways Agency into a Government-owned company. In a statement to MPs, Mr Goodwill said the reforms would mean the creation of a "road user watchdog" similar to Passenger Focus on the railways.

His speech at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain was the first ever to be delivered at the annual communications industry event by an automotive industry executive. Announced today and effective from 1 August 2013, Dr Wolfgang Ziebart becomes group engineering director, replacing Bob Joyce who moves into the new role of product creation and delivery director. Ziebart worked in R&D at BMW for 23 years, before moving onto key suppliers Continental and semi-conductor maker Infineon.
