Scotland to ban petrol and diesel cars by 2050?

The Scottish government is aiming to ban all petrol and diesel cars from towns, cities and other communities by 2050. This is according to a new “Switched On Scotland” document, intended to serve as a ‘roadmap’ towards the future that encourages businesses and private motorists to swap to electric vehicles (EVs). Toyota fails to land 'top safety pick' rating in insurance-group study

For the first time in three years, none of Toyota Motor Corp.'s vehicles received “top safety pick” ratings from an insurance group, as tougher criteria pared the number of selections from 94 last year to 27 this year. Ford Motor Co. led all automakers for the second year in a row with six 2010-model top safety picks from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, including four from Volvo, a brand that's being sold.

At the time we said we expected the RFCZ R to turn from concept to reality by the end of 2013, and today Peugeot has revealed that the RCZ R will make its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July before going on sale. The production RCZ R gets a tweaked version of the 1.6 litre turbo found in other RCZs (and other PSA/BMW cars) with 265bhp and the same range of styling tweaks the regular RCZ facelift got last year.
