Heritage Springer FLSTS
FRONT FENDER TIP (Fender Trim)
HD Part number: 59218-97
Fits 1997 to 2003 Heritage Springer

As a seller of Heritage Springer stuff, I've bought and sold a lot of these fender tips; new and used, front and rear. Over time, I've learned that most of the fender tips sold as "new" are not even close to perfect. I'm not sure how this happens, but it's always a little disappointing when I remove one from the package and see the swirls and/or little scatches on a fender tip that I expected to be perfect.

This FLSTS Fender Tip was re-chromed, which is not easy or inexpensive to do. The result? Now it is truly perfect! It's much better than new because the show chrome is 5 to 8 microns thick and hand buffed and polished to perfection. And they didn't just chrome it, they stripped it down to the bare metal, then dipped at least 3 times in nickel, copper then chrome - buffing it after each coat before the final polishing.  ZERO SWIRLS. ZERO SCRATCHES.

These photos were taken without a flash, so please zoom in and see just how perfect the chrome is. Try doing that with other new fender tips being sold here on ebay. The pictures in this listing are of the actual fender tip.  Installation instructions / template will be included with your purchase.

If you're a collector, have a show bike or just simply want the very best for your Heritage Springer - don't risk your money. The chrome on this Fender Tip is PERFECT!

Driver in Paul Walker crash was racer in his own right: Roger Rodas: 1975-2013

Sun, 01 Dec 2013

You know the headline: “Fast and the Furious” star Paul Walker died Saturday when the driver of the red 2005 Porsche Carrera GT that Walker was riding in lost control in a business park drive, wrapped the Porsche around a tree, and then the Porsche burned. But less likely to make headlines was the death of the driver of the car, Walker's friend for nearly a decade, Roger Rodas, who became Walker's formal business partner and financial advisor in 2007. The crash, which occurred about 3:30 p.m., was near the end of a charity event that the tuner and racing company they operated – Rodas was the CEO -- Always Evolving, announced on the company's web site: “Our next open house and car meet is November 30th from 10 a.m.

New Peugeot 208 won’t spawn Estate or Convertible, but a 2008 SUV Crossover is planned.

Thu, 29 Mar 2012

There may be a new Peugeot 208 GTi (pictured) but no 208 CC or SW Peugeot has revealed that there will be no CC (Convertible) or SW (estate) versions of the new 208, but a 2008 SUV/Crossover is expected. The new Peugeot 208 has a weight of expectations resting on its new shoulders, with Peugeot finding sales harder to come by and hoping the new 208 may rekindle some of the sales fire the 205 had. So you’d think it would make sense to fill every possible niche imaginable with the 208, including spinning off various iterations in the style of MINI.

Infographic: How much clay do Ford’s design studios use each year?

Mon, 15 Sep 2014

Ford has offered an insight into its clay modeling processes with a series of videos and an infographic that charts the process involved in turning a designer's sketch into a full-size model. The infographic uses data taken from all of Ford's global design studios in 2012 to give an idea of how much clay is used in a year, plus how much paint and di-noc film is used to cover each model. Ford has also released a video that gives a behind-the-scenes look at the firm's clay modeling studio in Merkenich, Germany, including interviews with members of the modeling team.
