First 2014 Cadillac ELR rolls off the line

IndyCar driver Simona De Silvestro christened the first 2014 Cadillac ELR to roll off the line at the Detroit-Hamtramck plant in Michigan on Wednesday. The Volt-based electric-gas hybrid will go on sale next year. We assume De Silvestro is in town for the Chevrolet Indy Duel in Detroit, two races at Belle Isle scheduled for this weekend.

The 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa Prototype will be at Pebble Beach 2011 Yes, much of the world is labouring under an economic cloud, but that doesn’t stop the world’s wealthy car collectors bidding for very special cars such as this 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa Prototype. This particular 250 TR is something rather special – although they all are, of course – because it is one of the original prototypes for the Testa Rossa and is expected to beat the current world car auction record – around $30M for a 1936 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic – when it appears at Pebble Beach next month. Automakers try to stop increase in ethanol limit to 15 percent of gasoline

Automakers are seeking to head off an EPA ruling that would allow gasoline to contain 15 percent ethanol, up from 10 percent now, and they've won some bipartisan congressional support. The two main automaker industry lobbies have argued that the U.S. Department of Energy has done insufficient testing to assure that gasoline containing up to 15 percent ethanol won't harm vehicles.
