Competition Motorsport is an authorized dealer for GiroDisc products and we are one of the largest stocking dealers in the country.  We ship most products same or next business day to ensure we meet your delivery deadline.

The GiroDisc two-piece rotor system is a 395mm x 34mm replacement for the OEM hat and rotor; no modifications are necessary.

The central hat section of the rotor is made from 6061-T6 aircraft-spec aluminum.  The disc is manufactured from cast iron and made in the USA to the same specification and with the same materials used by professional racing organizations.  The rotor's curved-vane design was developed in racing and acts as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc.

The rotor and hat mount together through a floating mount system which utilizes ten high-strength alloy steel drive pins manufactured by GiroDisc in the USA to our own specifications and are cadmium plated for corrosion resistance.  The alloy drive pins transfer the load from the brake action while maintaining the axial and radial float between the disc rotor and hat.  The pins are secured by Grade-12 cap screws with hardened washers and mounted with anti-noise spring washers to allow for heat expansion while eliminating the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors.

The two-piece GiroDisc design allows for rotor ring-only replacement to minimize future replacement costs and deliver outstanding performance and cooling.

Sold/Priced per pair.

New Porsche 911 Speedster reportedly in the works

Tue, 12 Nov 2013

When European-car importer Max Hoffman suggested to Porsche that the American audience might like a cheaper, open-top version of the company's 356, Stuttgart responded with the Speedster. And while every Porsche partisan is a special snowflake -- some love road-going racers like the 904, others can't imagine life without a roof-rack-equipped 912, others go gaga for anything with a legit, lift-off Targa top, and some folks just really, really, really love 924s -- the Speedster's the light, lovable kid brother for which any fan of the marque has a measure of affection. Porsche knows it, and as such, they've introduced limited Speedster models of every 911 series since the 3.2 Carrera -- except for the oft-maligned 996 (which is still loved by its proponents, IMS-bearing issues aside).

Electric cars amped up with £500 million boost

Tue, 29 Apr 2014

THE GOVERNMENT is to extend the £5,000 grant scheme open to anyone who buys a car with plug-in electric power. It is part of a £500 million move to encourage car owners – and city authorities – to take up the electric car baton and run with it. The initiative will give cities a chance to win government funding to further the sales of electric cars in their areas, for example by allowing them to use bus lanes or park for free.
