Singapore billionaire Peter Lim invests in McLaren Automotive
Fri, 19 Aug 2011Singapore billionaire Peter Lim has invested in McLaren Automotive and has taken a spot on the board of directors along with Ron Dennis, Mansour Ojjeh and the Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Co., McLaren said on Friday. The company declined to reveal the amount of the investment, but privately held McLaren said it is a “significant amount.” More details of the deal will be announced closer to the Singapore Grand Prix. Lim is ranked as the eighth-richest businessperson in Singapore, according to Forbes, and he owns a chain of Manchester United-themed restaurants and bars in Asia.

In fact, Aston Martin sales in 2012 – 67,500 units – was still 42,500 down on its pre-recession sales levels of 110,000 cars in 2007 and that lead to yet another loss. Aston Martin has posted pre-tax losses for 2012 of £24,6 million on sales of £461.2 million for 2012, a worsening position over 2011 which saw losses of £21.2 million.
Chrysler sues retailer for using 'Imported From Detroit' slogan
Thu, 17 Mar 2011Chrysler Group LLC wants a federal judge to halt sales of its "Imported From Detroit" T-shirts or other merchandise in a trademark infringement lawsuit filed against Detroit retailer Pure Detroit and its co-owners in U.S. District Court. This week the automaker filed suit against Moda Group LLC, which operates Pure Detroit's three stores selling Detroit-branded merchandise.
