2014 MINI Cooper SD 3-door joins the new MINI range – price from £19,450

The 3-door MINI Cooper SD (pictured) arrives in MINI showrooms in July 2014 When the new 2014 MINI Hatch pricing was revealed back in March, the range consisted of the MINI One, One D, Cooper, Cooper D and Cooper SD. But no sign of the Cooper SD. But now MINI has fixed that with the arrival of the 3-door MINI Cooper SD.

The first photo of the Spyker Venator – Spyker’s new car concept for the Geneva Motor Show – has arrived ahead of a reveal next week. If the modern history of Spyker (and of Saab) has taught us anything, it’s that you should never doubt the ability of a dapper, self-confident, deal-making Dutchman to bounce back from adversity. Many would have expected Victor Muller to be down and out after the Saab Saga, with his grip on Spyker forsaken for the Swedish odyssey and his pot of gold imprisoned in Vladimir Antonov’s Mayfair penthouse.

Motorists still not switched on to electric cars

Renault A new survey of 3,000 British motorists suggests there is still a long way to go before electric cars become a serious purchasing choice for the majority, with many saying the government isn’t doing enough to promote them. According to the latest Auto Trader Owner’s Guide, only 1% of UK drivers own what it calls an Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV). The poll also illustrates some significant age and gender divides, and shows that price continues to be a serious hindrance to more environmentally friendly motoring.
