I currently race at the National level with SCCA in the GT1 class.  This set of Goodyears is the largest size, best performance, and most expensive of the radial racing tires used for the GT1 and Trans-Am class with 16" diameter rims in widths of 10" to 12" up front and 13 inch in the rear. For national racing in the front, I normally end up only using them for a few heat cycles and then replace them with another new set, well before their useful life has ended.

I have one set of Goodyears left: front size: 25.5X14X16 and rear size: 28.5X14.5X16. They are 250 compound and they have only one heat cycle on them plus a short scuff cycle.  These tires are close to like new.  You won't be disappointed.  Most GT1 cars and drivers prefer this compound.  A set of these tires new is right around $1,900 out the door.  If you have any questions, please email me or call 860-741-0049.

I prefer local pick up and have not tried to estimate shipping as you have to be very careful to ship these cheaply.   However I am more than happy to ship any method you prefer as long as you do the homework, I will ship at the straight cost for any fees I incur.  I have found Greyhound to be very reasonable for tires is this size and weight range.

Now that the season is over I normally vacuum bag them and then run them a couple more heat cycles the next season and then sell them in the $400 range.

I do have another set of Hoosier 35 compound still on my GT1 rims. They also only have a scuff and one heat cycle.  However I will consider selling these now with very little use in the $550 range.  Please contact me if you are interested.

The GRMN Sports FR Concept Platinum gets a new front bumper and headlights with air vents on the bonnet, new back bumper and tail lights and a thumping great wing on the back.

Honda Jazz / Honda Fit recall – faulty electric window switch

Sat, 30 Jan 2010

Honda is recalling the Jazz/Fit to replace faulty electric window switches It’s not exactly on the scale of the Toyota recall for a sticking throttle, but nevertheless the announcement by Honda that they are recalling almost 650,000 (MY 2002-2008) Honda Fits (that’s the Honda Jazz in the UK) around the world is another blow to a Japanese car maker just as the worst of the auto industry woes of the last year or two seem to be easing. The European Honda Jazz recall seems only to affect RHD cars, so it looks like it’s just the UK that needs a fix to the master window switch on the driver’s door on 171,00 models here. If the window gets left open for long periods – or if there are long periods of heavy rain – water can get in to the switch and cause it to malfunction and, at worst, catch fire.
