Ford is debuting the EcoSport in Europe at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona today, an apt place to show their baby SUV considering it comes with some smart Ford SYNC toys to keep customers happy. The EcoSport will get the voice-activated SYNC and SYNC Emergency ASsist and will be one of the firts Fords in Europe to get Ford SYNC AppLink which lets you voice control SmartPhone Apps.

General Motors' small Cadillac will take aim at the BMW 3-series

The new Cadillac model that General Motors announced today will be aimed at the smaller models produced by BMW, Mercedes-Benz and other luxury brands. The rear-drive Cadillac is expected to be called the ATS and to arrive in showrooms in 2012 or early 2013, according to industry sources. “We will have a car positioned below the CTS in our lineup to compete with the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C class.,” said Nick Twork, a Cadillac spokesman, during a telephone interview.

Jaguar puts C-X75 supercar on ice

Jaguar has reversed its plan to sell the C-X75 hybrid supercar, fearing the project could be a commercial failure unable to recoup its investment. ‘After a thorough reassessment of the market conditions, the company’s view is that the global economic landscape does not currently support the introduction of a supercar such as C-X75,’ said Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar global brand director. Together with project partner Williams F1, Jaguar has built five prototypes of the plug-in hybrid.
