Rare, Graymarine V-8 exhaust manifolds, with elbows and new gaskets. These were taken off a mildly used marine engine that has not run for 15 years. There is no cast iron rot, cracks or damage. They hold pressure with no leaks. The manifolds show a manufacture date of 11/59, and will fit the Graymarine AMC V-8 engines of that period (327 and 250 c.i.). I degreased, sanded, rinsed and applied engine primer, then two coats of Genuine Graymarine high heat resistant red engine paint. I installed the front caps with new gaskets and red RTV. Elbows could use a coat of paint (which I'll be glad to do if you want), and have the correct new gaskets, as shown. The only gaskets you will need are the ones that install between the manifold and the heads. Those are easily purchased from any auto parts supply store, just ask for 1957-64 American Motors Ambassador, 327 c.i. exhaust manifold gaskets. I have the complete engine, so many other parts are still available. Email for details.

BMW i3 caught testing in New York

Tue, 28 May 2013

BMW has been hyping its futuristic i lineup for years now, but the long lead time doesn't mean that the highly efficient, carbon-fiber-based vehicles are vaporware. Earlier this month, we test drove pre-production versions of the i3 and i8, and last week, Autoweek reader Frank Cogliano spied the former vehicle on the road. Cogliano caught this wrapped i3 near Stony Point, New York -- about 30 minutes from BMW's New Jersey headquarters.

Ford is set to unveil its eight-seater Tourneo Custom Concept at next month's Geneva motor show, previewing new features that will give the vehicle car-like appeal. Ford designers have given the commercial vehicle the character of the company's Kinetic Design passenger car range, emphasizing movement, including a trapezoidal grille, a strong and muscular shoulder line, prominent wheel lips and a DLO with distinguishing kicks at the rear of each element. "We set out to create a design with clean, futuristic lines and with a real sense of occasion," explains Paul Campbell, chief designer, Ford of Europe.
