UK new car registrations up again in July
Mon, 06 Aug 2012New car registrations in the UK have risen for the fifth month running, with a total of 143,884 new cars registered in July 2012. The UK is continuing to buck the European trend with new car registrations up by 9.3 per cent in July (2102) to 143,884 according to new figures released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). That figure is the largest sales volume of 2012 and is the fifth month in a row that new car registrations have risen, despite economic woes and the Eurozone crisis, and brings registrations in 2012 to 1,201,564 so far, leading the SMMT to increase their prediction for 2012 sales upwards to 1.97 million.

The Hyundai Veloster Turbo that’s now arrived at the Detroit Auto Show – after a small leak of Veloster Turbo pictures this morning – may not be exactly the same as the Veloster Turbo we’ll get in the UK (more on that in a moment), but it’s close enough to give us a good idea of what the Turbo will add to the Veloster equation. Peugeot teases Onyx supercar concept
Tue, 11 Sep 2012Peugeot has teased a supercar concept dubbed the Onyx ahead of its world debut at this month's Paris motor show. The Onyx will be further developing the supercar concepts that we've seen the automaker unveil in the past – such as the SR1 convertible and the EX1 electric racer – and is likely to indicate Peugeot's future design language as well as that of the RCZ's successor. From the teaser images we can see that the Onyx has the classic supercar wedge shape with a cab-forward design and a rear spoiler that rises at high speeds.
