Lime Rock on track for Labor Day vintage festival

Connecticut’s Lime Rock Park doesn’t claim to have the biggest combination Concours d’Elegance and historic racing weekend in the United States, but it does have something that the recently concluded Pebble Beach and the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion can’t match: All the action takes place in the same venue. And as any veteran of the annual traffic-clogged Monterey Peninsula extravaganza can attest, that’s a definite plus. But Historic Festival 30 presented by Jaguar isn’t just about convenience.

AXE WOES

AN ORDINARY car journey almost turned into a horror film on a highway north of the US city of Boston when an axe smashed through the windscreen of a car. Massachusetts State Police say the axe bounced out of a dump truck. A photo was released showing the axe with a corner of its blade stuck in the passenger side of the car's dashboard.

It was a real surprise that Honda decided to pull out of F1 for 2009. True, they haven’t yet seen the sort of success that their efforts, and money, should have yielded, but they have a superb product and, more importantly, potentially one of the best set-ups in F1 led by the best of the best, Ross Braun, who was pretty much responsible for the renaissance at Ferrari and Michael Shumacher’s domination of the sport. But there could well be a light at the end of the tunnel for the Honda F1 Team.
