Land Rover Defender LXV celebrates 65 years of Land Rover
Tue, 30 Apr 2013As part of the celebrations at Packington Estate – which was the original testing ground for the 1948 Defender prototypes – Land Rover are launching a celebratory Defender special edition – the Land Rover Defender LXV – based on the standard Defender and available in five different body styles and with the 2.2 litre diesel engine and 6-speed manual ’box. The Defender LXV gets the sort of toys no one could ever have envisaged on those early Defenders, including a Santorini Black or Fuji White paint job with Corris Grey roof, grille and headlight surrounds, full leather seats with orange contrast stitching, lots of ‘LXV’ badges and even the option of a Union flag on the back. Jaguar C-X75 supercar program halted
Tue, 11 Dec 2012Jaguar has dropped plans to put the C-X75 hybrid-powered supercar into production, according to a report Tuesday by Autocar magazine in the UK. The reason is struggling economies around the world, the magazine said, citing Jaguar brand director Adrian Hallmark. Jaguar planned to launch the C-X75 next year and had partnered with the Williams Formula One team to help develop it.
Toyota recalls 2003 Sequoia for stability-control problem
Wed, 28 Apr 2010Toyota is recalling thousands of the 2003 Sequoia SUV to repair a potential stability-control problem, the company announced on Wednesday. The recall covers 50,000 of the SUVs produced early in the 2003 model year. The problem is the stability control could activate at too slow of a speed (about 9 mph), limiting the ability of the Sequoia to accelerate.
