I'M AN OLD SCHOOL GUY THAT'S BEEN BUILDING RACING ENGINES FOR DECADES. NOT LONG AGO A DEAR FRIEND OF MINE ASK IF I'D BUILD HIM AN EARLY HEMI FOR ONE OF HIS PROJECT CARS.
HE ALWAYS HAD A NUMBER OF RESTORATIONS GOING AND DEMANDED THE ABSOLUTE BEST AND WAS WILLING TO PAY FOR IT. GOOD CORES FOR THE EARLY HEMI'S ARE RARE BUT I WAS ABLE TO LOCATE ONE THAT WAS 100% ORIGINAL WITH ONLY 83 K MILES ON IT. IT HAD BEEN SETTING IN A GARAGE FOR ALMOST 55 YEARS. IT WAS WAS A 354 WHICH I PERSONALLY PREFER FOR A STREET ROD BECAUSE I THINK THEY HAVE SUPERIOR HEADS AND THEY ARE A LITTLE MORE COMPACT FOR TIGHT APPLICATIONS. ANYONE FAMILIAR WITH THESE ENGINES KNOWS THAT THEY ARE VERY EXPENSIVE TO BUILD BUT ARE THE EPITOME OF A PERFORMANCE HOT ROD ENGINE. MOST PROJECT CARS HAVE 350 CHEVYS THAT NO ONE PAYS ATTENTION TO, BUT WHEN YOU HAVE A HEMI , PEOPLE PAY ATTENTION. THIS MOTOR WAS COMPLETELY RE-BUILT WITH ALL THE BEST NEW PARTS FROM A TO Z. TO DESCRIBE IN DETAIL WOULD TAKE A LOT OF SPACE BUT I WILL COVER THE COMPLETE BUILD IN DETAIL AND PROVIDE RECEIPTS TO A SERIOUS POTENTIAL BUYER. UNFORTUNATELY, ABOUT THE TIME THE BUILD WAS FINISHED, MY FRIEND PASSED AWAY. AND I AM ASSISTING HIS LOVELY WIFE IN SELLING THE ENGINE.
