Honda's Asimo robot celebrates its 10th birthday

Way back in 2000, after 14 years of research, ASIMO was born 31 October. It might have been another three years before Honda's humanoid robot was unveiled to the public, but to celebrate the landmark date ten years on, Honda has launched a website dedicated to the robot and all it has achieved over the past decade. As journalists crammed together in what looked like a trendy nightclub, a video of two Chemical Brother-style hipsters driving the Crossover through a warehouse played behind the covered over concept before – ta-da! – some heavily tattooed type swung down from the rafters to remove the covers and reveal the actual pair inside the actual car.

Natural-gas-powered Honda Civic can stay in California carpool lane

Honda Civic GX drivers in California are smiling this week as they continue to have access to the high-occupancy-vehicle lane, even with just one person in the car. Even though one-occupant hybrid cars have lost access to the carpool lane, natural-gas-powered vehicles get to use it for another four years. Beginning on July 1, yellow-stickered partial hybrids were banned from HOV areas on the highways unless they carried the mandated number of people.
