Renault, Caterham form joint venture to build sports cars

Two lightweight two-seat sports cars, likely to be on sale in 2015 or 2016, will be the first output of a joint venture between French automaker Renault and U.K. sports car maker Caterham that was announced Monday. Perhaps we're more excited about the 2015 Chrysler 200, which just made its official debut at the Detroit auto show, than we ought to be. In one sense, it's just another compact sedan in a segment full of capable vehicles. But we didn't have a lot of love for the looks or performance of the current car, which felt like a carryover from Detroit's darkest days hanging around until something more competitive came down the assembly line.
