Video: Chris Bangle delivers “Empowerment: Design without Designers” talk at Creative Mornings/London
Wed, 09 Nov 2011Chris Bangle – the undisputed front man of car design – needs little introduction, so the prospect of the former BMW Design Director and now founder of Chris Bangle Associates giving a talk in our home town of London was too good to pass up. His presentation (which you can watch in full in the video to the left) touched on his time at BMW, but was more focused on the idea of empowering others to create: "design without you in the middle", as Bangle says. SHO-down in Motown
Wed, 14 Jul 2010“There are no egos in this club,” said Tom Ochal, owner of a pristine 1993 Taurus SHO. “The other guys might have a problem with aftermarket wheels or other-make parts, but not us.” That same sentiment was echoed throughout the parking lot at the 19th-annual Taurus SHO club convention at Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn, Mich., right before the crew took off to the Waterford Hills racetrack in nearby Clarkston. At least 100 cars SHO-ed up for the 2010 meet.

But the gas turbines soon bit the dust as Jaguar realised the technology was just not mature enough for a production car, so they replaced the gas turbines with a 1.6 litre turbocharged and supercharged petrol engine charging the batteries that powered the two electric motors, one on each axle.
