Explosion at GM Tech Center; lithium battery is the suspected cause

According to WWJ CBS Detroit, there was an explosion at the General Motors Tech Center in Warren, Mich., on Wednesday morning. Deputy Fire Chief Gary Wilkinson said the explosion most likely was related to a lithium battery. Wilkinson told Autoweek that a responder notified the HAZMAT team via radio that the explosion involved lithium batteries in the research facility's Alternative Energy Center.

Hyundai has unveiled its HCD-14 Genesis concept at the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). The new Aston Martin Vanquish – successor to the DBS and first shown at Villa D’Este earlier this years as the AM 310 – was revealed back in June. But with a public debut at the Paris Motor Show in just a few week’s time, Aston Martin has been ramping up the PR for the new Vanquish with new photos and new video in the last week, and now they’re off to show the Vanquish to dealers and the Aston Martin faithful alike.
