Following a consultation with the client a design by McLaren's Korean-born RCA graduate Hong Yeo was chosen. "X-1 embodies the McLaren value that every part has to have a purpose," said Yeo.

The manufacturer has released a first image as well as a video of the new crossover concept, which is set to sit above the hugely successful Qashqai in Nissan's crossover range.
