Detailed Product Description

Automatic HF Radio Tuner For use with Icom IC-M801E  M801E M-801E HF SSB marine radio

Matches all bands:  The AT-141 matches any frequency on every HF marine band. For example, the tuner matches a 7 m long-wire antenna across 1.6–30 MHz. Full automatic tuning Just push the [TUNE] switch on the transceiver, and the AT-141 adjusts immediately to the minimum SWR of any frequency on any HF marine band.

  • HF operation on any size ship The AT-141 allows you HF operation where antenna element length is restricted due to space.
  • Weather resistant The AT-141 is housed in a durable, completely weather resistant ASA case with a rubber basket. The antenna tuner can be conveniently installed both on the deck or in the cabin near the antenna element.
  • Simple installation Installation is simple. Just connect the control and antenna cables. You never need to open the cover.
  • 45 memories for shorter tuning time To decrease the tune-up time, the AT-141 automatically stores the matching conditions for up to 45 frequencies.
  • Re-tuning for a memorized frequency takes approx. 1sec.
  • Super capacitor for memory backup even if the AT-141 is not used for approx. 1 week, the built-in super capacitor backs up contents of the 45 memories.
  • Low power tune up The AT-141 emits low output power during tuning. This feature reduces the possibility of causing interference to other stations.
  • Tuner through function The tuner through function is built into the AT-141. This function helps improve receiver gain, depending on the antenna element length used, and operating frequency

We also stock the Icom OPC-1147N control cable to link this tuner to the Icom M802 and Icom m801e IC-M801E

Jeep Wrangler and Chevrolet Cruze are checked for engine fires

Mon, 02 Apr 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is looking into complaints that some Jeep Wrangler vehicles and Chevrolet Cruze sedans are prone to engine fires. The investigation is taking a look at the 2010 Jeep Wrangler and the 2011 Chevy Cruze. NHTSA says it has eight complaints about engine fires in the Wrangler and two complaints about the Cruze.

Bentley SUV will be the Bentley Falcon

Fri, 23 Nov 2012

It looks like Bentley has come up with a name for its SUV – Bentley Falcon - and, as expected, it will get a complete redesign before it arrives. But it now seems that VW has bitten the bullet on the Bentley SUV and signed it off for production, when it will apparently come complete with a new Bentley name – Bentley Falcon. The news of a name for Bentley’s luxury off-roader comes from Georg Kacher writing in Automobile Magazine and, although it perhaps doesn’t resonate particularly in the UK, it will probably have more impact on the target market for the SUV – the Middle East – where the Falcon is a big deal.

Alfa Romeo MiTo Review (2012): Quadrifoglio Verde (Cloverleaf)

Fri, 29 Jun 2012

We have the range-topping Alfa Romeo MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde (Cloverleaf) in for a week for review and test. The Alfa Romeo MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde (or Alfa MiTo Cloverleaf to us linguistically challenged Brits) is Alfa’s efforts at a proper little hot hatch and gets the very good 170bhp 1.4 litre MultiAir engine under the bonnet, offering real performance promise. The MiTo is a bit of a Marmite car in the looks department with its small car take on an 8C nose.
