For a NOS electrical or mechanical part over 20 years of age, the part may require servicing before use for it to function or function properly. This generally entails cleaning and lubricating the working mechanism. (NOS is defined as a vintage original new part made by Chrysler or one of its suppliers. NORS is defined as a replacement part that is now obsolete made by an American company).

An internal memo distributed this week directs workers to use the official name in all communications, from official duties to simple conversations.
