Councils are turning to CCTV cameras and spy cars to raise £312m in revenue, that’s according to Traffic Spies, a report published by civil liberties group, Big Brother Watch. Using a series of freedom of information requests, the group has discovered that many councils are continuing to use CCTV to hand out fines, despite the government’s Surveillance Camera Code of Practice, which highlights the need to use CCTV for traffic offences “sparingly”. Infiniti plans to keep its name--and especially its new M hybrid sedan--in front of basketball fans for the next few weeks as a sponsor of NCAA Men's Basketball Division I championship. Under a multi-network advertising deal with NCAA, CBS Sports and Turner Sports, Infiniti will run a total of 170 TV spots of up to 60 seconds each over the next four weeks of March Madness basketball playoffs on CBS, TBS, TNT and truTV networks, says Kathy Roznowski, a marketing manager at Infiniti. Of those 170 spots, at least 100 will be for the new hybrid sedan, the luxury brand's first, starting March 17.

Hyundai will unveil its new Santa Fe SUV at the New York motor show in April 2012. The Koreans have committed to the Santa Fe name for its full-sized SUV, following on from its DM codename. That's no surprise: Hyundai has shifted 2.6 million Santa Fes since launch in 2000.
